Happy Birthday, Warner Brothers!

Warner Brothers will mark its 85th birthday this April, and the venerable studio is marking the occasion with a raft of new releases. Good news for the classic movie buff!

The first quarter will feature a set of releases of Oscar-winning films and another set of gangster movies. WB has some great gangster flicks in the vault. They're kicking it all off with a primo "ultimate" edition of Bonnie and Clyde.

They're putting out all the Dirty Harry movies too, and a new, five-hour Warner Brothers documentary on the fab PBS series "American Masters" will be narrated by Clint Eastwood. It will air in September with a companion book by writer and movie critic maven Richard Schickel.

Other releases for the year will be themed around Frank Sinatra movies, westerns, musicals and holiday films -- including A Christmas Story. I'll keep my eyes open!
