The son of legendary film director Frank Capra has died in Philadeplhia at the age of 73 after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Frank Capra Jr. did not achieve the same level of fame as his father, who directed the ultimate Christmas film It's a Wonderful Life, and some of the most beloved films of early Hollywood. Nevertheless, the son was an extremely successful producer of movies and television, including The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, three of the Planet of the Apes sequels and the teen TV soaper "Dawson's Creek."
He was one of three children born to Capra and his wife Lucille. Here's more on his life from the Associated Press.
