Classic Movies, Cartoons and Serials for Children

C'mon. Admit it. You cried when Ol' Yeller died. And you will again. This is the place to find the classic children's movies, old cartoons and thrilling serials you loved when you were a kid. Remember these classic films now for your own children.
Hayley Mills in Classic Disney Films
<p>One of the leading child actors of the 1960s, Hayley Mills made six movies with Disney, starring with some of the biggest stars of the day. Here's six great picks.
Eight Great Children's Movies
Eight great old kids' movies that will keep the adults entertained as well. Wholesome adventures with great art, terrific old-school special effects, live animals, singing dancing and merriment - from Mary Poppins to Willy Wonka, from Doctor Doolittle to the Swiss Family Roninson.
Best/Worst Children's Movies Ranked by IMDB Users
The users of the Internet Movie Database have voted on their best and worst picks for children's movies, and some great classic movies are among the top 50 - including The Day the Earth Stood Still, Bringing Up Baby and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Bang Bang Leaves Broadway
If the kids loved the movie, there's only a few more months to take them to New York to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bangdo its flying in a live Broadway performance. Hard to believe that the same writer who gave us James Bond also gave us the flying wonder car, but there you have it. The musical, with its fantastic special effects, closes on December 31st.
Gulliver's Travels
A classic children's tale, the animated Gulliver's Travels can be seen here online. I loved it is as a kid, and while the online version doesn't do it justice, it's fun to see again and hear the old tunes. The old Fleischer Studios style will take you back and make you laugh.
Superman Cartoons from the 1940s
They're not really movies, but they were shown at the movies -- and one was even nominated for an Academy Award. These are very cool 1940s Superman cartoons, stylish and impeccably drawn by the Max Fleischer studios - the very first Superman cartoons. Defintely more entertaining than the anti-piracy PSAs and soft drink ads we get in the theaters today.
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
It doesn't get any weirder. But if the family is tired of the real Christmas classics, give it a try. Adults will enjoy Santa Claus Conquers the Martians for the so-bad-it's-good factor, and the very young Pia Zadora in a key role. Young children may enjoy the harmless plot, in which Santa is kidnapped by Martian parents so their kids can get some presents, too.
