Friday night brings crime thrillers to Turner Classic Movies, as the cable outfit continues its October "Night at the Movies" series on thrillers and suspense films. Look for The Narrow Margin, a tense noir thriller set on a train, and The Lodger, where the denizens of a boarding house think they may be living with Jack the Ripper.
On Saturday afternoon I'm sitting down for one of my favorite old sci-fi flicks, 1960's The Time Machine, with its proto-steampunk vibe. That night it's "Whatever Floats Your Boat" night (nyuk, nyuk), starting with the Clark Gable version of Mutiny on the Bounty and delivering the immortal African Queen in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
After that, I'm sleeping in.
