October is the month for all things spooky and scary, and Turner Classic Movies gets into the spirit every Friday night in October with suspense movies.
It starts October 2 with a special, A Night at the Movies: The Suspenseful World of Thrillers, which examines just what makes a thriller thrilling -- the tricks of the movie trade. Sounds like it's packed iwth great interviews of movie insiders, people who have put their own thrillers on screen as producrs, directors and writers.
Then it's on to the movies, starting of course with the master of suspense, Hitchcock himself, with Shadow of a Doubt and Rear Window. Succeeding Friday nights wll feature political thrillers, crime stories, and pychological thrillers. Sopunds like creepy goodness to me.
The whole thing is the start of a larger A Night at the Movies enterprise in which TCM will take a "Cinema 101" approach to teaching classic movie fans about various genres. I'm there!
