So, there's this new thing called Yoostar whereby you can digitally insert your own bad self into famous scenes from classic movies and TV shows, like Some Like it Hot, Sabrina, Casablanca and Animal House.
It's a kind of karaoke for video. I guess it was inevitable, given the success of games like Rock Band and the swiftly evolving world of digital image manipulation. And it probably would be great fun to come up with clever spoofs and ad-libs to entertain my friends.
Frankly, if I was that good-looking and had enough time and money to spend, I'd rather come up with my own, wholly original videos. As it is, I have no desire to see myself on the screen, especially in a role originally played by a gorgeous twenty-something - but the comic possibilities are there.
We seem to be heading toward a world where anyone can be a movie star/director/producer. Unfortunately so far, it's a world of silly remakes.
