When Bad is Good

From Laurie Boeder, About.com GuideJuly 30, 2009

Follow me on:

Fans of the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 show (me, me, me) may want to check this out: a high-def broadcast of Plan 9 From Outer Space, widely viewed as one of the worst movies ever made, with some of the original wisecrackers from MST3k riffing live, broadcast live to big screens around the country.

The event (I don't know what else to call it) will take place August 20th in some 430 theaters nationwide, and you can find out more FathomEvents.com.

The cast includes Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo) and Bill Corbett (Crowe T. Robot). For the uninitiated, MST3k was a TV show that ran really bad movies with these three guys sitting in front of the screen, making about 700-900 jokes per movie.

Oh, it's impossible to explain. If, like me, you're a fan of movies so bad they're good, just rent the old shows.
