TCM Fans in the Limelight

Turner Classic Movies does a great job of bringing actors and directors on as guest programmers, with entertaining interviewers about why they chose certain films, and what their influences have been.

I really like their idea for their 15th anniversary in April -- showcasing their fans. After all, without the fans, there would be no classic movies channel.

They've chosen 15 fans (for the 15th anniversary, get it?), including a 14-year-old classic film buff and an 69-year-old who contributes regularly to the TCM site's discussion boards. Just like the celebs, they'll do guest spots with genial host Robert Osborne.

The scchedule will be firmed up later, and I'll be warming up the TiVo. Among the films on tap - Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon, Grand Illusion and Gone With the Wind.
