TCM Honors Paul Newman
Turner Classic Movies pays homage to the late Paul Newman with a review of his films Sunday, October 12.
There's a nice selection of his early work, including Somebody Up There Likes Me, the breakthrough role in which Newman played boxer Rocky Graziano.
It may be tough to watch the moving prison tale Cool Hand Luke, perhaps my favorite of his anti-hero roles, now that the star is gone. And I'll be interested to see Rachel, Rachel, his directorial debut, in which he guided wife Joanne Woodward to a lovely perfomance.
The TCM tribute starts at 6:00 a.m. Sunday with The Rack, and wraps up at 4:00 a.m. Monday with The Outrage.
