Elvis Teams Up With TCM
No, not that Elvis. Elvis Mitchell, renowned radio and TV movie critic and all-around cool guy. He's doing episodes of a new series, Under the Influence on Turner Classic Movies, interviewing equally cool people about the classic movies that most influenced them. Then TCM shows the movies, natch.
The series kicked off with the late, lamented Sydney Pollack on July 7, and airs every Monday with a new guest. On the 17th, it will be Bill Murray (love him) with A Night at the Opera and North by Northwest. Tasty picks, Bill.
Then on the 21st, it's the yummy Laurence Fishburne with A Patch of Blue and Apocalpse Now. Future guests will include Quentin Tarantino, Joan Allen, Ed Norton, John Leguizamo and Richard Gere. Most excellent.
Plus, let's just say it. Besides having the coolest name ever, Elvis Mitchell has got to have the hippest host hairdo ever seen on TCM, all respect to Robert Osborne...
