Marilyn Monroe - Clark Gable Movies sell for $60K
Those home movies of Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable taken on the set of the The Misfits have sold at a Las Vegas auction for $60,000.
Held privately for more than 40 years, the two reels of silent footage show the stars preparing for scenes and speaking to other cast members and crew.
The Misfits was the last movie for both stars. Gable died of a heart attack just after the film wrapped in November 1960, and Monroe died of a drug overdose in 1962.
Among the other flotsam and jetsam left behind by the famous and sold at the auction were Alfred Hitchcock's California driver's license ($8,000) and a showy suit worn by the King, Elvis Presley himself (more than $36,000).
