Turner Classic Movies Honors Heston Friday
To mark the passing of the great, gorgeous movie star who was Charlton Heston, Turner Classic Movies will air several of his films this Friday in a 15-hour block starting at 2:30 Eastern.
The actor's classic profile and chiseled physique made him a perfect choice to play the uncompromising leading man, and Turner's line-up is heavy on the heroics. Movies on tap include The Buccaneer (1958), The Hawaiians (1970), Khartoum (1966) and Major Dundee (1965). (None of his fun sci-fi flicks, I'm sorry to say.).
The crowning glory in the line-up is of course is Heston's Oscar-winning turn in Ben-Hur. And, I'm looking forward to a replay of TCM's original Private Screenings: Charlton Heston for the conversation between host Robert Osborne and the square-jawed star. The special will air twice during the marathon.

I was hoping to see The Omega Man. I LOVE that movie and am hoping to find it on video.
