Laurie's Classic Movies BlogOsborne Picks Great Flicks for his Classic Movie Festival
Time once again to be in Athens for the spring - Athens, Georgia - to partake of great classic movies at Robert Osborne's annual classic film festival. The Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia hosts the annual event with the Turner Classic Movies host. This year it kicks off with one of my all-time favorite comedies, Young Frankenstein on Thursday, April 11, and closes with the lavish musical The King and I on April 13. Among the films in between are the free children's matinee Friday, the goofy old sci-fi flick Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Saturday night's screening of the marvelous adventure-love-story-war-movie The African Queen. Tasty picks once again, Mr. Osborne. Plus, I hear Athens is great. Check it out. Dapper TCM host Robert Osborne/by Andrew H.
