The War is Over. Now, Let's Make Some Demands!

My condolences to any classic movie buffs who backed Toshiba's HD DVD in the format wars, but of course, Sony's Blu-Ray has offcially won. Now, it's time to start asking for some of the classic films that are hard to find, out of print, or have never been published on DVD. Here's a great piece in the Hartford Courant, pointing out that great classics like The African Queen, The Magnificent Ambersons or Notorious can't be found on DVD.

Turner Classic Movies has a handy list of movies not out on DVD, and they regularly send the suggestions along to production companies. So now that the format wars are over, go ahead and vote! Or use the "Suggest a Movie" button on top of their banner to ask for a favorite you don't see on the list. Perhaps the logjam will finally be broken.
