Great Screen Kisses in a Book - Mmmmwah!
It's never too early to start thinking about Valentine's Day, and here's a little number to impress your beloved with your knowledge of classic movies and your romantic side: "Great Kisses...and Famous Lines Right Out of the Movies," a small-format coffee table book with stills of great screen smooches by Timothy Knight.
The book also has a brief, matter-of-fact synopsis of each movie, and the lines of dialogue surrounding the big moment, but it's the pictures that make it sizzle.
I can't fault Mr. Knight's choices. He has several of my faves in there, including the rain-soaked kiss from Breakfast at Tiffany's, Clark Gable planting one on a tipsy Scarlett in Gone With the Wind, Jimmy Stewart's desperate cling from Vertigo and the hilarious "experimental" smooch Marilyn Monroe gives Tony Curtis in Some Like it Hot.
But if I've gotta pick one, I suppose it must be Rick and Ilsa in Casablanca. "Kiss me, Rick. Kiss me as though it were the last time."
Goodness. I believe I have the vapors.

John Wayne delivered some of the best screen kisses as far as I’m concerned.
Actually, John Wayne IS in the book — his smooch with Maureen O’Hara in the wonderful “The Quiet Man.” Yum.
