It's a great challenge for a great actor -- bringing the quirky, iconic, master of the macabre to life in a film biopic. Anthony Hopkins has signed to play Alfred Hitchcock in a movie about the matchless director and the making of "Psycho."
I have every faith in Hopkins' ability, despite the fact that he is considerably less jowly than Hitchcock, and lacks the umistakable Hitchcockian belly profile. After all, he's not a serial killer/cannibal, and look how he brought Hannibal Lecter to life!
It will be a while before we see how it goes. Ryan Murphy is scheduled to direct, but he's got to finish up some other projects first. Let's hope Murphy brings his Nip/Tuck game to the enterprise, not his Running with Scissors lack thereof.
