It's Not Xanadu...But it Will Do

Tuesday July 10, 2007
Remember the scene in The Godfather where the movie producer wakes up in bed with the north end of his beloved race horse? Right, who could forget. Ewwww.

But do you also remember the elegant, palatial Beverley Hills estate that served as the location for that scene? Big, pink and gorgeous, it's in an LA neighborhood dubbed "the Platinum Triangle."

Well, droogs, it's yours -- for a mere $165 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. Possibly the most expensive private residence on sale in the USA today.

Plus, this one has double points for classic movie buffs. It's the mansion where William Randolph Hearst lived after leaving his California castle, San Simeon...immortalized as the momument to human folly "Xanadu" in Citizen Kane. I'd make them an offer, but they'd probably refuse.
