There's a Bridge in Brooklyn I Could Sell You...
This just has to be a spectacular way to watch movies - outdoors on a summer night, with the lights of Manhattan in the background, in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Sweet.
The eighth annual "Movies with a View" festival starts in July, and the schedule includes two terrific classic movies - on July 12, The Day the Earth Stood Still, a tasty old sci-fi invasion flick, and a cult classic of the Cold War. And on August 9, All About Eve, the greatest film catfight of all time, with Bette Davis at her meow-marvelous best.
The rest of the line-up, while not classic movies, are great films nonetheless, including The Princess Bride and Being John Malkovich. You also get an independent short at every viewing - bonus.
So, if your travel plans take you to the Big Apple this summer -- or if you're already in the vicinity, take a pic-a-nic blanket, BooBoo, and check it out. Sounds like you can buy dinner and your popcorn at the park.
